AGLOCO - a straightforward business model

Another AGLOCO member sent me this note - I thought it addressed an interesting point on the AGLOCO member marketing system.

Discussing AGLOCO on a mailing list I'm on, one of my friends responded to a posting that said "it sure feels like a ponzi scheme" with the following...
which I think is an interesting way to phrase things:

Actually, it feels nothing at all like a Ponzi
scheme. The core revenue model does not pay
current participants with money from new
participants. All participants are paid by
advertisers. Payers and recipients are
essentially independent communities. That's
not a Ponzi scheme. I have no idea whether
there is a survivable business model, but it
actually seems like a straightforward attempt
to match willing consumers to willing sellers.
